U-Rock’s First Parade of Lights a Big Hit

Cathy HallesseyBlog, News

On a sparkly Saturday night in Stittsville, hundreds of families eagerly awaited the arrival of Santa Claus at the Christmas Parade of Lights, and U-Rock Music School was there to celebrate.

It was our school’s first time entering the festive parade with our U-Rockmobile, which was all decked out for its dazzling appearance amongst many fabulous glittery holiday floats, boats, tractors and of course hundreds of participants.

Many U-Rock students and their families joined in on the fun as we walked the parade route together alongside the U-Rockmobile, with our karaoke machine in tow, allowing any student or would-be singer from the crowd to belt out a seasonal tune along the way.

What a FUN night it was! We handed out more than 150 candy canes to the many families watching along the packed parade route. This was by far the best Christmas parade we have ever seen and it was an absolute joy to be a part of it joining our amazing community to celebrate the season of peace, love and sharing.

Thank you to all of our families who participated – we will definitely do this again next year. U-Rock’s next seasonal event is our Winter Wonderland Open Mic on Sunday, December 17 at Hurley’s at 3pm. More than 25 students have already registered for this super fun event that is sure to get you into the spirit of the season.
